Lower Lonsdale hangouts

Getting outside and taking in some fresh air is so important, and we know that during the colder months it is all too easy to stay inside cozied up by the fire. That's why we've outlined some awesome hangout spots in Lower Lonsdale that won’t disappoint - and some of them even have a fire to cozy up around!

Another beautiful pier to enjoy the breathtaking views of Downtown Vancouver and the Burrard Inlet is Goldsworthy Pier. This pier
is located at the foot of Waterfront Park, another one of our favourite places to hangout! We love catching the sunset here and watching the seals and other local wildlife pop by.

This year there will be no ice skating in order to comply with Covid-19 restrictions. The City of North Vancouver and the Shipyards have however transformed the former ice skating rink into a holiday oasis. The rink, located on the waterfront at the Shipyards and set against the beautiful backdrop of downtown Vancouver and the North Shore Mountains & is tastefully decorated with Christmas trees and distanced fire pit tables!

Ps: shipbuilders square, right beside the skate plaza is also equipped with picnic tables and fire pits AND is in the City of North Vancouver’s alcohol allowed zone. Did someone say Baileys and Coffee?

Located at the foot of Lonsdale, the City of North Vancouver Christmas tree is set in front of the beautiful backdrop of the Vancouver City Skyline. The tree provides a great place to enjoy the Christmas spirit with your family! There is ample seating around the tree and even some great places to grab a snack and a warm drink just steps away.

If you’re looking to add a little fun and colour into your day, Fun Alley is the perfect place to do just that. The colourful alleyway is located on 1st Street in Lower Lonsdale and is part of the City of North Vancouver’s “Studio in the City” program. Bonus: Fun Alley makes the perfect backdrop for pictures, so if you haven’t gotten around to your family Christmas photo yet, this is a great way to add some extra cheer and colour to your pictures this year.
